A heat wave sets in in southern Quebec

Heat and humidity are coming this weekend in southern Quebec. Temperatures could exceed 30°C in some places.

The heat is setting in in Quebec with temperatures above seasonal averages for the next few days, according to Environment Canada.

With the humidity, the feelings will be close to 35°C and more for certain sectors of the center and south of the province on Sunday, specifies MétéoMédia.

In Montreal, two sunny days are expected with mercury fluctuating between 28 and 30 degrees.

Every year, the metropolis experiences heat waves during the summer. Cool islands, located in the more wooded areas of the island, are to be preferred.

The consequences of heat on health are not to be taken lightly. According to Martine Lévesque, responsible for the climate change file at the Regional Public Health Department (DRSP), it is important “to drink water regularly without waiting to be thirsty”, in order to avoid dehydration.
