No, it’s not his vacation spot. The director of the Beauvais hospital Eric Guyader will be the director of the university hospital center of Point-à-Pitre, in Guadeloupe. He was officially appointed by decree published in the Official Journal on Monday August 1st.

Eric Guyader has been in post in Oise since 2012 where he jointly managed the hospitals of Beauvais and Crèvecœur-le-Grand. Since the end of 2021, he has also been acting director of the southern Oise public hospital group (GHPSO), in charge of the Creil and Senlis establishments.

Eric Gyuader is also a Knight of the Legion of Honor, his badges were given to him at the end of June by Caroline Cayeux, mayor of Beauvais.

A land mined rather than conquered

During these ten years of presence in Beauvais, the last years in office of Eric Guyader were marked by the difficulties linked to the Covid pandemic, which is particularly virulent in the department. Guadeloupe is one of the overseas territories where the issues of Covid, the state of health emergency and health personnel have proved thorny, to the point of having caused strikes and riots.

Eric Guyader is due to take up his post in Guadeloupe on September 16. His successor to Eric at the head of Beauvais hospital has not yet been named
