Bouillancy. 40 hectares of wheat go up in smoke

40 hectares of wheat burned in a field fire this Sunday July 10 in Bouillancy. A harvester was also damaged by the flames.

During the afternoon, many fire engines converged on this small town located in the very south of the Oise, below Crépy-en-Valois. Firefighters were alerted to a standing crop fire.

A very large fire

The first spears engaged were used to protect a farm. The farmers concerned also took part in the operation by using stubble cultivators. What made it possible to limit quickly limits the extension of the disaster, according to the firefighters of the Oise. The emergency vehicles were then responsible for drowning the various homes.

This is the third major crop fire to have occurred in the Oise in the past 48 hours after those that occurred on Saturday July 9 in Catenoy, as well as in Précy-sur-Oise and Cauffry. The difference between those that occurred on Saturday and that of Sunday is in the magnitude: the first cases only destroyed a few hectares.
