Bulgaria: The right at the top after the early legislature
SOFIA (Reuters) – Former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov’s right-wing Citizens for European Development Bulgaria (GERB) came out on top in Sunday’s snap general election, exit polls show.
According to Gallup International and Alpha Research, the GERB would range between 23.6% and 25.5%.
His main opponent, the We’re Continuing Change reformers, outgoing Prime Minister Kiril Petrov would come second with 19.5% to 19.9%.
If confirmed, these results would promise difficult discussions on forming a government and could lead to a political impasse that could lead to new elections if four elections have already been organized within two years.
