A fire broke out on the second floor of a building on rue Emile-Zola in Chambly, in the south of Oise, on the night of Wednesday June 29 to Thursday June 30. A man appeared at the window of his burning apartment. The firefighters, once on the spot, proceeded to rescue the victim and his dog, both intoxicated. Two other residents were intoxicated and transported to Beaumont hospital (Val-d’Oise).
The fire was brought under control with a lance. More than 25 firefighters were mobilised, reinforced by their counterparts from SDIS 95. A total of eight emergency vehicles were needed. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
