COVID-19: drop in hospitalizations, but 16 deaths

The latest figures from Quebec public health report 16 new deaths linked to COVID-19 and a decrease of 46 hospitalizations.

In detail, there are 2,176 hospitalizations, including 738 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 46 compared to the previous day.

Sixty-eight people are in intensive care, including 31 due to COVID-19, a decrease of one from the previous day.

In the healthcare network, 6,334 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19.

1,460 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded across the province, according to the government report. Remember that the number of cases listed is not representative of the current situation, since access to screening centers is reserved for priority clienteles.

The national director of public health, Dr. Luc Boileau, will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. to provide an update on COVID-19 in Quebec.
