COVID-19: further increase in hospitalizations in Quebec
The latest data concerning the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec show 1,534 hospitalizations, an increase of 37 compared to the previous day. Forty-three people are in intensive care, an increase of three.
1,755 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded across the province, according to the government report. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the current situation, since access to screening centers is reserved for priority clienteles.
As for the human toll, the Ministry of Health deplores 16 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,646 deaths.
In the health network, 7,318 workers are still absent for reasons related to COVID-19.

According to the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ), the presence of particles of the COVID-19 virus in Montreal’s wastewater is clearly increasing.
The latest data from the body, released Thursday morning, shows the detection of more than 51 trillion particles of the virus on June 28. This follows a peak of almost 57 trillion particles seen two days earlier.
