On Wednesday July 13, a fireworks display was scheduled in Crépy-en-Valois to celebrate the traditional national holiday of July 14. Thousands of people turned out for this event, and the festivities ended in scuffles, as revealed by the newspaper The Parisian.

At the ball and downtown

A ball organized by the town hall, Cour du Jeu-de-Paume, followed the pyrotechnic show after 11:15 p.m. Around 1 a.m., several individuals began to warm up, drawing others into the fight.

The municipal police and the national gendarmerie were forced to mobilize for almost an hour to disperse the troublemakers.

At the same time, other clashes took place in the city center, rue Nationale.
