EU troops will conduct a military exercise in Bosnia and Herzegovina

About 250 soldiers assigned to Bosnia and Herzegovina arrived in Croatia from Italy on Sunday (October 16) ahead of a month-long military exercise by EU forces (EUFOR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s neighboring country. Another group of soldiers would soon join them.

Dubbed Quick Response 2022, the exercise will involve soldiers from 20 countries and will take place between October 17 and November 20. EUFOR has promised this “Temporarily increase its presence by deploying additional troops, increasing patrol numbers, and organizing tactical exercises in specific urban and rural areas”reports Klix.ba.

EUFOR is a Bosnia and Herzegovina-based force that oversees the military implementation of the 1995 Dayton Accords – peace accords establishing post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“As with previous exercises, EUFOR QUICK RESPONSE 22 once again demonstrates the European Union’s commitment to a European future for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”said the EU force.

The European Commission recently recommended official candidate country status for Bosnia and Herzegovina in its annual enlargement report, provided the country implements reforms in a number of key areas.
