Justin Trudeau is positive for COVID for the 2nd time since the beginning of the year

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has tested positive for COVID-19 for the 2e times since January 2022. He himself shared the news on his social networks.

“If you haven’t already, get your shots or booster shots. Let’s protect our health care system and protect each other,” he said on his Twitter account.

Justin Trudeau first contracted COVID-19 at the end of January 2022. One of his children had also tested positive for COVID-19 two days earlier.

A wave of cases among Bloc Québécois MPs

Several Bloc Québécois MPs have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two weeks.

In the week of 1er June, Denis Trudel, MP for Longueuil–Saint-Hubert, Stéphane Bergeron, MP for Montarville, René Villemure, MP for Trois-Rivières, and Julie Vignola, MP for Beauport–Limoilou had to go into isolation.

The following week, the MPs for Drummond and Manicouagan, Martin Champoux and Marilène Gill, also obtained a positive result. It was then the turn of the member for Mirabel, Jean-Denis Garon.

The party even canceled its scheduled press briefing last Thursday, June 9, without mentioning a reason. Many suspect that it is because of the meteoric wave of COVID-19 which affects its deputies.
