Le Mans Classic reconnects with its fans

Too old for polo and already jaded by big game fishing? Never mind, there are other rich sports to get your blood pumping. How about going full throttle on the legendary Bugatti Circuit at the wheel of an old racing car? Such is the exhilarating experience offered by Patrick Peter, organizer and creator of the retrospective of the 24 Hours of Le Mans called “Le Mans Classic”. This biannual event, which has become essential, reconnects with its public from July 1 to 3, after the missed edition of 2020, due to the pandemic.

Recreate the feverish atmosphere of past editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Motorsport enthusiasts would give a lot to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and relive the exploits of their idols. Alas! Realizing this dream is given only to a handful of privileged people. Because solid financial means are required to acquire one of the racing cars that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1923 and 1981, the only ones today authorized to register for the Le Mans Classic retrospective.

Taking into account repairs, fuel, tyres, insurance, transport to Sarthe, mechanics’ remuneration, food and lodging expenses during the three days of this event, the budget can be counted in tens, if not hundreds of thousands of euros, reveals a competitor on condition of anonymity.
