Mercedes-AMG SL63 and Porsche 911 Turbo: exceptional convertibles
Without a doubt, the Porsche 911 is a legend. So when Mercedes-Benz wants to tackle this iconic sports car, one of the best-selling in the world, it invokes and evokes its proud past The SL line was born in 1954 with the 300 SL. The magnificent gullwing coupé was then available as an attractive roadster, models directly derived from a racing car. Born out of competition, the SL family was gradually gentrified over the years, evolving into a roadster that emphasized comfort over sheer performance, despite generous engines.

The ideal rival to the new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 is the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet. Here the Twin-turbo flat-six delivers 580 hp from a displacement of 3.7 liters and a torque of 750 Nm. The SL has evolved above all in its architecture: previously a pure two-seater, it now houses two small booster seats… Enough to make it a 2+2 directly comparable to the 911.
