Nord Stream: The first Swedish inspections “intensify suspected sabotage”

The first inspections carried out this week by Swedish authorities at the site of leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea “reinforce suspicions of sabotage”, with “detonations” causing “significant damage”, the authorities said with floor Thursday.

The first inspections carried out this week by Swedish authorities at the site of leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea “reinforce suspicions of sabotage”, with “detonations” causing “significant damage”, the authorities said with floor Thursday.

“We can see that near Nord Stream 1 and 2 in the Swedish exclusive economic zone there have been detonations that have caused significant damage to the gas pipelines,” the special prosecutor in charge of the investigation on the Swedish side said in a press release.

“Crime scene inspections have increased suspicions of serious sabotage. Seizures were made at the scene and are being investigated,” he added.
