A fire broke out in the town of Mortefontaine on Monday, August 8 in the afternoon. The disaster quickly contained by the firefighters would be of criminal origin or at least characterized recklessness. Investigators discovered the remains of a bivouac with bottles of alcohol at the site.

Delicate weather conditions

The efficiency of the firemen limited the damage to one hectare of forest in the private part of the Stud farm, located on the road to Thiers-sur-Thèves. Delicate weather conditions with a sustained breeze require sustained vigilance in wooded areas.

The municipality of Mortefontaine reminds that access to forests is strongly discouraged.
