It is very precisely 9:32 a.m. on Tuesday July 12, when the firefighters of Pont-Sainte-Maxence are called for a gas leak. The incident occurred in the rue du Colombier, in Pontpoint.

This leak comes from a medium pressure pipe, which was torn out by a construction machine. A water curtain lance is established to limit the spread of gas.

Ten pavilions evacuated

An exclusion zone is delimited. The emergency services therefore began to evacuate the area. About ten pavilions are concerned. But not only. A nearby nursery must also be evacuated. That is 17 children and two adults. All found refuge in a park located in the “support zone”, far enough from the operation.
The firefighters then carried out surveys in the establishment and the houses close to the leak. The readings being zero, everyone was able to return home at the end of the intervention.
