MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that state-owned energy giant Gazprom was ready to fully meet its gas export obligations.

Speaking to reporters after a visit to Tehran, his first trip abroad since the start of the offensive in Ukraine on February 24, the Kremlin chief added that Gazprom was not blame for the decrease in gas flow.

Earlier in the day, Reuters learned from two sources familiar with the matter that Russian gas deliveries via Nord Stream 1 were expected to resume on Thursday, as planned, following the completion of the pipeline’s annual maintenance operations.
