Saint-Just-en-Chaussee. A resident hides in his home with his 82-year-old mother
More fear than harm, but a certain fright all the same for the neighborhood and also for the gendarmes who took very seriously the call from the family of a person holed up in his home in the Ecueillette district, a district recently rehabilitated by Oise Habitat. The Dupont family lives there and in particular the son who lives with his 82-year-old mother. For a reason that remains to be determined, the latter literally freaked out.
Having become unmanageable in the eyes of his family, throwing a violent rage, it was his own sister who called the police. The gendarmes very quickly arrived on the spot and noting that the man remained cloistered in his home and said to be armed with a knife, an important device was put in place.
“Surprising”, according to the mayor
The mayor of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée, Frans Desmet, also went there. “I know the family and the citizens of this neighborhood well in general, when I can help, I do not hesitate, but in this case, I was kept out like everyone else. It is surprising“, notes the first magistrate of Saint-Just-en-Chaussée.
The alert was given at 1:30 p.m. A few hours later, a negotiator from Méru showed up in front of the family’s home. He was in civilian clothes and in a few minutes, unblocked the situation. The occupant of the premises opened the door himself and surrendered to the gendarmes. He was taken care of by them.
