BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union (EU) has extended “Roam-like-at-home” regulations for telecommunications service providers until 2032, a announced Thursday the European Commission.
This device allows travelers from the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA) to call, text and use mobile data abroad at no additional cost.
“This is a very concrete benefit of our European single market. By extending these rules, inter-operator prices will remain competitive and consumers will be able to continue to benefit from free roaming services for the next ten years”, said the Commissioner. European Competition, Margrethe Vestager, in a press release.
