The United Arab Emirates grant a soft loan of USD 1 billion to Serbia

United Arab Emirates and Serbia have signed an agreement on the loan of Belgrade 1 Billions of dollars on very favorable terms, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on Sunday (September 11).

Serbia will get with only 1 billion dollars 3 % d’interests within l’accordance «at unbelievable conditions» and that this loan «is practically a gift»said M Vučić to Serbian media during his two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates.

«Our old loans that we have to pay back are due in January. Now, in addition to the existing solvency, we also ensure full liquidity»he explained.

The President said so too theil it’sexpects Serbia to sign a stand-by agreement with the International Monetary Fund, thereby guaranteeing additional support.

Serbian and UAE officials signed nine agreements in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, including one on a comprehensive partnership, said Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selaković, a member of the delegation he is leading M Vucic.

The minister said this would strengthen ties between the two countries, the Serbian government said on its website.

«Relations between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates have deepened over time, as has trust in them it’sinstalled, which brings many benefits to Serbia»said M Selakovic.
