The Zaporizhia power plant will come under Russian control after the annexation
(Reuters) – Ukraine’s Zaporizhia nuclear power plant will come under the control of Russian government agencies following Moscow’s formal annexation of the region of the same name, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday, quoted by the RIA news agency. According to the agency TASS, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, is to travel to Moscow in the coming days to discuss the situation at the plant. Russia proceeded to annex the Zaporijia region and three other Ukrainian regions after referendums on their annexation to Russia were held, which Kyiv and Western governments denounced as bogus consultations.
