July 14 in Méru: throwing stones in the middle of the crowd and “tense scuffles with the police”

Young people from the Nacre district in Méru presented themselves in the city center during the festivities of July 14, the national holiday. After the fireworks, they started throwing stones into the crowd. “The municipal police accompanied by the gendarmes were extremely responsive and immediately intervened“says Nathalie Ravier, Mayor of Méru.

Clashes with law enforcement

Then scalded, the young people of the district did not stop there. “They wanted to fight with them (the police), which resulted in tense scuffles with law enforcement“, specifies the elected official. For its part, the Beauvais public prosecutor’s office has not yet been made aware of these facts.
