Twitter agrees to trial against Musk in October
WILMINGTON, Delaware (Reuters) – Twitter is not opposed to the trial against Elon Musk starting on October 17, accepting a motion filed by the billionaire, a court document filed on Wednesday by the social network shows.
Twitter, however, asks that the businessman agrees that the trial will last only five days.
The Tesla boss terminated the $ 44 billion takeover agreement with the social network earlier this month, accusing the group of having breached its contractual obligations by providing in particular erroneous or incomplete data on the number of fake accounts. Twitter has denied those accusations.
Twitter called for the trial to be held as soon as possible, arguing that any delay hurts the company. According to the social network, Elon Musk has in no way guaranteed that the duration of the trial will not exceed five days, as ordered by a Delaware judge.
Lawyers for the businessman did not respond to a request for comment.
