Video protection. First ten municipalities connected to the departmental supervision center in Beauvais
In this long room, an entire wall is covered with screens. We see the life of municipalities like Ercuis, Laigneville or Pontoise-lès-Noyon live. In front of the screens, two operators scrutinize the smallest details. This supervision center seems banal at first sight, but it has a unique feature in France: it is departmental.
Born of the joint work of the county council, state services and the Syndicate of the deployment of fiber in the Oise (SMOTHD) this center required the modification of the internal security code to see the light of day. From now on, municipalities equipped with video protection and very high speed can have their images connected to it.
Ten first volunteers
In this center eight operators take turns night and day to assist the gendarmes in the fight against delinquency. In the event of a problem, they are able to see what is happening through the cameras of ten municipalities. The first volunteers to be connected. Others will follow according to Christophe Dietrich, mayor of Laigneville and departmental councillor. “The municipalities keep the images for 30 days.“, he specifies.
These ten municipalities are: Bury; Ercuis; Grandvilliers; Hondainville; The Chapel-aux-Pots; The Neuville-Vault; Laigneville; The Ages; Pontoise-lès-Noyon and, shortly, Formerie. They are essentially rural. “Cities already have their supervision centercomments Nadège Lefebvre, the president of the department. We won’t go. We were interested in helping small towns.»
